Kirsten Anna, Nysa, & Ashiya have varied backgrounds with years of teaching, performing and education. Each dancer has their own unique style and have trained with various teachers throughout the world. We continue to study to ensure continual growth.

Kirsten Anna

Kirsten Anna has danced most of her life and has been around Greek bellydance since she was a child. She helped found Karavan of Dreams, a tribal group based in Grand Island, in 2004. She went on to study Turkish/Greek bellydance and continues to study that tradition today. Kirsten was a Parthenon Restaurant dancer for 6 years and helped lead the traditional Greek Folk Dancers of Lincoln. She co-teaches bellydance at Southeast Community College with her partner, Nysa.

Nysa Ali

Nysa began dancing later in life, training under Ashiya Ali beginning in 2005, when she started her dance career as an Athenian Dancer. Nysa is a Turkish dancer and her niche is specialty dances such as cane and veil. Nysa was a Parthenon Dancer for 2 years and is an adjunct instructor at Southeast Community College where she teaches regularly at SCC with her partner, Kirsten Anna.

Ashiya Ali

Ashiya Ali, is a teacher, performer, and workshop host since 1976. Her style is considered Turkish by today’s dance standards, and she is well versed in: zills, candle dancing, veil/double veil, cape/double cape, glass dancing, sword/double sword, cane/double cane, tambourine, and tray. She has performed in nightclubs across the nation and was the main dancer at The Parthenon Greek Grill for 20 years.
